Let me start this post by telling you that photographing Hana and Jeremy’s wedding was an absolute dream come true! I have a million reasons why their day was so special, but let’s begin with the most important one: Their wedding day was about them, their loved ones, and most of all, their incredible bond.
I teared up so many times throughout the day that I honestly can’t even count. My mind first goes back to the groom’s dance with his grandmother which melted everyone’s hearts. It was such a touching moment.
And the location was absolutely gorgeous. It was like something straight out of Vanity Fair! It was at the beautiful Metropolitan Building on Long Island and the space was filled with antique furniture, hidden rooms, and wooden staircases. The venue was such a perfect fit for those two. I honestly can’t imagine any other place for them to have spent their big day!
The whole thing went off without a hitch, since we had plenty of time to prepare and we were able to get into the first part of the shoot right on schedule!
The first look is one of my most favorite parts of any wedding day and it’s for sure one of the most emotional ones for the bride and groom. The reveal between Hana and Jeremy would’ve pulled at anyone’s heartstrings. They’d impatiently waited all morning to see each other, and when they finally did, you could just tell that they were excited about creating their own version of “forever” by each other’s sides.
When it came time for the ceremony, I just knew that it was going to blow everyone away! They walked down the aisle together (which was super modern and cool) and quickly started on their vows. I remember Hana’s vows perfectly, since they were filled with inside jokes and love! Jeremy sweetly teared up a bit, and I was there to capture it all.
After the ceremony was an incredible party. And when I say party, I mean PARTY. Every single person was on their feet dancing and I couldn’t help but join in. People had asked me all day if I’d gotten to see Jeremy’s dance moves yet, so you can imagine my excitement when the music started playing. Of course, he did not disappoint! He’s an incredible dancer. He took center stage the whole night and I wondered how a human being could possibly have that much energy. I loved every second of it.
This day is one that’ll stick with me forever. I always say it, but I’ll repeat myself: Having a wedding that looks beautiful and represents you as a couple is important, since you’ll hold onto those memories forever. You can tell a lot about a couple from how they act on their wedding day, and I know in my heart that these two will be together for the rest of their lives.
I’m so very grateful that I got to be there to witness Hana and Jeremy’s love and I wish them nothing but joy and happiness!
